In a powerful and inspiring message, Sister Sharon Phiri, a Catholic nun and Head Teacher at Solwezi Diocese in Zambia, urged a group of fresh graduates to embrace the moral compass they had cultivated during their time at Bambino Convent School. Her speech, delivered at the school's 9th Graduation Ceremony, emphasized the impact of good morals on life's decisions, friendships, and future endeavors.
"The moral values you've learned here are like a guiding star," Sister Phiri said. "Let them be your compass as you navigate the complexities of life. Hold on to prayer, for it is a source of strength and peace during life's challenges."
The ceremony, themed "Small Little Seeds, Big Hopes," celebrated two milestones: the beginning of formal education for the youngest learners in the Reception class, and the completion of primary education for the Grade 7 class, who were now ready to embark on their secondary school journey.
Mr. Felix Luputa, the Guest of Honour and Solwezi District Education Standards Officer, echoed Sister Phiri's sentiments, urging the graduates to hold on to the values instilled in them as they navigated the twists and turns of life. He emphasized the need for guidance, education, and a strong foundation to overcome life's challenges.
"Your journey ahead is an exciting one, but it's not without its hurdles. Remember, the values you carry with you will be your anchor," Mr. Luputa added.
The Senior Educational Officer also praised the collaboration between the Catholic Church and the government in providing quality education, highlighting the importance of such partnerships in achieving educational goals.
Carol Nayame, the representative of the Grade 7 class, urged her peers to embody the values of honesty, hard work, respect, and prayer, encouraging them to become strong individuals who make a positive impact. "We are the seeds of change," she said. "With hope and dedication, we can grow into mighty trees, bearing fruit for our families, our nation, and the world."
