Disney Lakeshore Lodge Update: Porte Cochere Expansion & A-Frame Cabin Details (2026)

Get ready for an exciting update on the highly anticipated Disney Lakeshore Lodge! The A-frame cabins are taking shape, and the entrance is getting a grand makeover.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge, nestled next to Fort Wilderness Resort on Bay Lake, is a Disney Vacation Club resort inspired by nature's beauty. Set to open in 2027, this resort is a work of art in progress, and we've got the latest scoop for you.

The A-frame Cabins: A Work in Progress
These charming cabins, lined up on either side of the main resort, are undergoing some serious detailing. Over the past few weeks, the construction crew has been hard at work, adding extra support and intricate wooden details to each cabin. It's estimated that there will be at least 20 of these cozy abodes spread across the resort.

While the cabins closest to the main building are taking center stage, the rest of the resort is not far behind. Many cabins, including those near Clementine Beach, are still in the framing stage, a combination of wood and steel. But fear not, as progress is visible from the monorail and water taxi routes.

Construction Updates: Beyond the Cabins
Most of the resort's buildings are now covered in sheathing or are being prepped for concrete, a sign of rapid progress. The roof work and overhangs are coming along nicely, with crew members tackling the upper areas and balconies that were previously lagging.

The barge has shifted slightly, indicating work on a potential new dock. The metal and woodwork extend from the resort grounds out over the water, adding to the resort's unique charm.

The Entrance: A Grand Welcome
And here's where it gets controversial... The entrance porte cochere has been extended, creating a grand covered area for guests to pass through. This unique design, as seen in the concept art, is finally taking shape. With silver framing extending from the red steel, it's a sight to behold and a true testament to the team's focus on creating a memorable arrival experience.

A Bird's-Eye View: Fort Wilderness Perspective
From Fort Wilderness, you can catch a glimpse of the resort's progress. The section closest to Fort Wilderness is the most complete, with continued work on sheathing, overhang frames, and roofing. It's a sight to behold, and we can't wait to see the final product.
