Hold onto your seatbelts, Fast & Furious fans! It looks like the family is about to get a whole lot bigger, and the news is… unexpected. Vin Diesel himself has hinted that soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo might be joining the cast of the upcoming Fast finale!
Diesel took to Instagram to share a photo with Ronaldo, sparking immediate speculation. The caption read, "Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him…" This suggests that a part has been specifically crafted for Ronaldo, which is exciting news for fans of both the franchise and the athlete.
But here's where it gets interesting: While the post is pretty suggestive, there's no official confirmation yet. Both Diesel's and Ronaldo's teams have remained tight-lipped, as of the original reporting.
Adding to the anticipation, Diesel recently dropped another bombshell: Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, might be making a comeback! He revealed that the final movie is slated for an April 2027 release, a date agreed upon with Universal Studios under three specific conditions. Diesel wanted the film to return to its roots in Los Angeles, embrace car culture and street racing, and, most importantly, reunite his character with Brian O'Conner.
For those who may not remember, Paul Walker tragically passed away on November 30, 2013, during the filming of Fast & Furious 7. The filmmakers creatively used CGI, visual effects, and Walker's brothers, Cody and Caleb, to complete his scenes. The final scene of Furious 7 remains a poignant moment, with Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Conner sharing a final farewell. VFX supervisor Joe Letteri emphasized the importance of honoring Walker's memory and ensuring that the audience focused on the performance, not the technical wizardry. The team created 350 shots to complete Walker's scenes.
So, what do you think? Is Ronaldo a good fit for the Fast family? And how do you feel about Brian O'Conner's potential return? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! Is it a good idea to bring back a character using CGI?
