Apple's highly anticipated AirTag upgrade is here, bringing a range of exciting new features. The original AirTag is getting a much-needed refresh with a higher range for finding items and a louder speaker for when you're closing in on your lost item. The AirTag 2 is now available at the same price as the previous models: $29 for one AirTag and $99 for a four-pack. While it retains the same basic design, this upgrade focuses on usability. It utilizes the ultra-wideband chip found in the latest iPhones and Apple Watches, enabling a Precision Finding feature that works from up to 50% farther away than the previous generation. The latest Apple Watches are also now compatible with Precision Finding, allowing you to track down your item from your wrist. According to Apple, the new speaker is 50% louder than before, and it integrates with the Share Item Location feature in the Find My app on iOS. This feature allows you to securely share the location of a lost item with a third party, such as an airline, for assistance in tracking down lost luggage. While it may not be the foldable iPhone reveal everyone is waiting for in 2026, it's still a significant step forward for Apple, marking a good start to the year.
